Facing forwards!

SSD is over… for now. It’s been a fun journey and I hope everyone’s enjoyed following it as much as I have leading it. By no means am I done with Suzi though, nor the show. I just feel now’s the right time to do something else.

I’ve had a few ideas I’ve been wanting to play around with, and so I’m going to focus my time and energy on them. First of all, I made allusions to a “WAM Café”, which I’m still working on. The first part of that story will be around soon and will feature Suzi Harrison, The Kayotics, Ashton Blackwell, Emily Strider, Fifi Dufour and Natsuki Saito. It will also feature some new characters, some of which I’ve made myself. It will also feature four-to-six characters I’m not making – an all-female street dance crew called Synergychix.

The second idea is a regular vote/popularity contest for each author’s original characters. I pick 2 characters out of those that people have nominated, there’s a vote and the one with the most votes gets gunged, using a mechanism/theme of my choice. For instance (and assuming TG allows her in), it could be Erika from the Summer School series vs. Becky from The Kayotics, with the “winner” getting locked into some stocks and messed. Then anyone can write a story using those elements. Referring to the vote is entirely optional – if Becky got the most votes you could do something like Erika finding her trespassing on the campus and punishing her. Whether or not the stories “really happen” in the continuities of the stories they’re from is down to the person who makes the series in question. Once a couple of stories have been made, there’s a small voting period where the best one is voted for. Basically, it’s a small chance to have a little bit of a writing competition without having to wait for the GGP.

I’ll give the signup sheet for both now, along with an example.

Name: What the character’s called, of course.
Age: You can be as specific as you like. An exact date-of-birth and current age, or just a vague range (such as mid 30s)
Appearance: What they look like, including fashion sense.
Personality: How they act in general.
Views on mess: Do they enjoy seeing it or getting it? Is it a sexual thing or just silly fun? Do they even like mess or do abhor dirt of any kind?
Biography: A little bit of backstory for the character, nothing too big if you don’t want it.
Appearances: If you’re signing up for the vote series, what stories is the character from?

The example:
Name: Michelle Massey:
Age: 22
Appearance: Naturally curvy, Michelle has a body that the other girls envy – even the otherwise straight Yuriko has a slight attraction. Ridiculously long chocolatey brown hair that reaches her midriff, eyes that seem to be differently coloured depending on the light. Michelle has a wide and varied fashion taste off-stage, but usually dresses in denim or leather on-stage.
Personality: She enjoys doing silly/crazy things but doesn’t show it, preferring to act as the mother figure to the group.
Views on mess: A secret shame of hers, Michelle secretly loves to get covered in muck but is often reluctant to do so and acts like it’s the most horrid thing ever. It took a lost bet with Becky to make her realise it, though. It’s a bit of a sexual thing to her, though that’s mostly due to how she was introduced to it.
Biography: One of the guitarists and founding members in The Kayotics, Michelle generally plays the rhythm parts apart from on a handful of songs. She is perfectly capable of playing lead parts but is a tad more modest than Becky, leading her to play rhythm parts. Michelle is the group’s main composer and founded The Kayotics with Chloe in an attempt to show that women are just as capable of making rock music as men, without becoming too pop-like the way acts like The Go-Gos did.
Appearances: Secrets, Becky’s Game, Suzi’s Slop Drop Episode 7: Hallowe’en Special (Parts 1, 2 and 2.5)

There’s only a couple of limitations for this.

Synergychix: Make them the kind of girl who would be in a British amateur street dance team – there’s only so much that suspension of disbelief covers.
The Original Character Vote-Off: They need to have been in at least one story that’s appeared on TellyGunge and they need to be a character that either you have created, or a major character in a series you write (such as Santi in TG’s Summer School, Hanako in otherguy23’s Tuition Free Show).

So yeah, feel free to sign up characters for either.

And finally, Music Monday will be back on the 12th. Without giving too much away, violins are involved.

Sounds very promising, but I’m a little confused. If I nominate, to use your example, Erika from Summer School, do I have to fill in the list of details you have up there? Those details are already in the stories, no?

    • VanillaXSlime says:

They are, but it makes it a lot easier for when the polls start. I’ll be reposting the profiles along with the polls and the gunge device, so that people who haven’t read the stories can make a decision based on more than just a name.

Keeping with Erika as an example, when I hear the name the first thing that comes to mind is the quiet geisha-like Grass specialist from Pokémon, which is pretty much the complete antithesis of our Austrian lesbian dominatrix. Of course, having read Summer School I know better, but still…

  2. TellyGunge says:

That’s fair enough. In fact, it gives me the chance to bring in a few details that I never previously specified, so here goes.

    Name: Erika Schlammschlacht
    Age: 23
Appearance: Tall, fairly large-framed, and well-toned. Face chiselled and aggressive but still feminine. Eyes brown, hair brown and straight (previously shoulder-length but has since grown it longer). Large bust, shaves downstairs.
Erika’s wardrobe is dominated by authoritative and businesslike attire. In particular, she has a penchant for 80s-style shoulder-padded suits. Recently her attire has been more casual, but this serves the pragmatic purpose of blending into the background rather than being a fashion statement.
Personality: At times cool and aloof, at others bossy, domineering and cruel. Sense of humour revolving solely around the ridicule and misfortune of others. Sharp temper. Speaks perfect English but has tendency to lapse into her native German when flustered. Lesbian, but always single – romantic relationships are not her thing.
Views on mess: Derives sadistic sexual pleasure from seeing other women messed up, especially if it is by her own fair hand. Loves to see her victims squirming and pleading before being totally humiliated with gunge. Absolutely hates getting messy herself and will do anything to avoid it, but is actually turned on by such humiliation, even though she won’t admit it, even to herself.
Biography: Born and raised in Salzburg, Austria. Was proficient in a range of martial arts by the time she was a teenager. Also had a fascination with messy shows. Bored with Tigerenten Club, she discovered UK mess on the internet, and moved to UK after finishing school to follow the WAM scene. Was soon noticed by Professor Wamdale and he hired her to run his secretive Summer School.
After a few successful years, her reign of terror came to an end when she suffered a major humiliation at the hands of her Pupils. Has never been quite the same since, and retains a deep phobia of yeast extract. Has vowed revenge on the instigators of her downfall.
Appearances: Summer School Series I and II

Should anyone else want to introduce any of my characters, you are very welcome, as always.
