So many ideas, so little time!

Hey guys!

I’m the kind of writer who writes what they want first and what the rest of the world wants second. It has its upside. For instance, it means that ultimately it doesn’t matter if other people hate it (though being uncivil about it is a good way to get on my bad side…). It also has this massive downside – you end up coming up with so many ideas and starting them without them really getting finished.

So, I’m curious to see what the TG community want to see me do now and in the future. With that in mind, here’s a poll!

If you want to be more specific about your choice (or just want to be vocal about your support), leave a comment. Just don’t get too disheartened if I decline your suggestion.

Could you explain what an “opinion piece” is. I either keep forgetting over never knew.
Whatever I’m still of the “do as you wish” camp really. You shouldn’t do something you actually aren’t that keep on just cause other people suggested it on mass. The result will likely be universally disappointing.

An opinion piece is pretty much what it says – a piece of writing where I express opinions on something. The best example of this would be the one I did on cosplay, though Music Mondays also acted as minor ones for the music involved.

I haven’t suggested anything I wouldn’t be willing to do. It’s really more just me being curious about what people want to read most. It seems to be matching up with what my current plans are too.

Thought so but also thought that the site isn’t exactly chock-a-block with those sort of features. I’m assuming you have things in mind in the event that gets voted for but just writing “opinion pieces” doesn’t really tell people what exactly that is because as you’ve just revealed the subject matter can be pretty broad.

On the other point I wasn’t just talking about things you wouldn’t be willing to do, unless all those 11 things interest you equally then you may see the result and wish some something else had won because before you did the poll your head was so muddled with ideas you couldn’t hear the one that was shouting loudest but as soon as you see what gets voted for you may be able to tell… that’s not it.
Seriously I suspect that if that enthusiasm isn’t there the idea will suffer if not at conception than as you try to realize them.
I recommend that if you’re struggling in future try to pick the ideas that will only require one post as committing yourself to a multipart story and then getting fed up part way through is a sure fire way of killing your enthusiasm. You’ll possibly feel you need to finish it to avoid letting your readers down but you won’t really want to so it’ll become a chore.

Maybe something in the way of normal people and revenge sort of things? Like no game show format.

So like an evil mother, babysitter neighbour maybe, something like that. Maybe where they get pubically humiliated, (not too harshly) or something?

You must really want to see that! 😉

But sure, there are some good stories in that vein elsewhere which I particularly like. I should be able to come up with something similar yet fresh at some point.
